He owned a successful business until it suddenly went under in 2014. Joel was forced to close his business, file for bankruptcy, and take work when he could as a day laborer. He was making over $48,000 a year running his business, but now will be lucky if he can make $7,000 in 2016. Joel would go hungry if it weren’t for the help of SNAP. He is able to always take some milk to work and appreciates the peace of mind that the program brings him.
