Morry was the sole provider for his family of 4, including his wife and a child who both have a disability, when he suffered multiple heart attacks. He was out of work for 6 months, which as a contractor meant that his income stopped and new work offers slowed. As a result, his family enrolled for food stamps. “For two years in a row I was doing fantastic now things are hard and this why I have to use it.” While wanting to get back to work soon, Morry acknowledges that without food stamps it would be hard for them to survive. When asked what he would have done without food stamps, Morry said, “These type of programs have helped my family out tremendously and I am thankful every day for what they have done to help us out.”
